Position Summary
Reclaiming Minds is committed to seeking diverse and competent clinical interns to join our team. We strive to provide culturally attuned and responsive care to individuals, adolescents, and couples. We offer a trauma-informed work environment and encourage personal and professional growth among colleagues. We have several partnerships with community based organizations and often provide training and consultation in addition to therapy services. Historically, interns have primarily provided clinical services to an adult population, however, there may be opportunities to gain experience working with adolescents (pending current referral base).

We utilize evidence-based practices, including trauma therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. Our team works to treat adult and adolescent clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma.

Graduate level clinical Interns must be organized, reliable, and passionate about working with BIPOC women. Interns must demonstrate adherence to ethical and legal standards in
the mental health field. In addition, interns must also demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • ● Must be able to engage and provide direct individual and group therapy services to adolescent and adult clients in the office and also remotely (via Simple Practice).
    ● Independently maintain a weekly schedule.
    ● Be open to learning a wide range of evidence-based modalities.
    ● Complete all case documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, email
    communication) in a timely manner.
    ● Demonstrate clinical competence by interacting with clients in an ethical, professional
    manner, and using supervision/group consultation as needed.

Internship Expectations

  • ● Commitment to work aligned with Reclaiming Minds’ mission and values.
    ● Interns are required to attend one hour of group supervision and an additional half hour
    of individual supervision.
    ● Interns may request additional supervision from their supervisor or other
    providers in the agency when needed.
    ● Interns are required to facilitate at least one clinical skill-based group (virtually) during
    their internship.
    ● Interns are required to have in-person clinical experience with at least one client during
    the course of their internship.

Qualifications

  • ● 2nd year Master Levels student in Counseling or Social Work program
    ● Completion of all academic requirements necessary to engage in clinical field placement (specific to student’s graduate program)
    ● Flexible schedule and willingness to travel to see clients in person at our Hyde Park office
    ● Excellent oral and written communication skills
    ● Maturity and self-direction
    ● Willingness to engage in self-reflection
