Intern
Kalby Ivory, MSW
Kalby Ivory is in her final year of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Loyola University Chicago, where she is completing her clinical internship. For the past eight years, she has served as a case manager in Chicago, helping individuals and families access health care, essential resources, and ongoing support. In her current role at a nonprofit organization, she works closely with individuals living with chronic health conditions, offering guidance and advocacy.
Kalby’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. She practices from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and empowerment framework, often integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support clients in building confidence, recognizing patterns, and developing practical coping strategies. She is committed to meeting people where they are and works alongside them to identify real-world supports and strengthen connections with community resources so that progress extends beyond the therapy room.
At the core of Kalby’s work is her belief that clients deserve to feel safe, seen, and heard. She understands the challenges of balancing roles, whether at work, as a parent, caregiver, or supporter of loved ones, while navigating systemic barriers that can be overwhelming. With empathy and care, Kalby partners with clients to clarify what matters most, explore meaningful changes, and create effective strategies for achieving their goals.
