“Look inside yourself; you are more than what you have become. Remember who you are, remember….”

– Mufasa from the Lion King

Hello! My name is Imanii Uwakwe. I am passionate about empowerment and mentorship for adolescent women in the Chicagoland area and nationwide. Through this work, I am able to advocate and educate women about the importance of self-esteem, confidence, and overall mental stability. In the future, I plan to also specialize in Individual and Couples Therapy.

To me, therapy is an art; you have your own canvas where you can splash and create or recreate your masterpiece with various colors, shapes, and meanings. In this, you are in charge of your painting, with my assistance, of course. Therapy is used as a means for growth, introspection, and self-awareness. You can figure out your likes, dislikes, flaws, and, most importantly, strengths. Nevertheless, it’s important to understand that your life challenges do not define you.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, benevolent, mindful, and motivating. Throughout our journey together, my goal as your therapist is to assist you in feeling strong, safe, and capable. Starting therapy is not easy for everyone. However, it is my duty to create a welcoming environment that will serve your needs.

Healing is not linear, but I look forward to helping you find meaning and become the master of your fate!
